Happy Christmas!

Ahhh, Christmastime again…...…

We have been stationed at Fort Campbell, KY for two years now with no new assignments in sight. Rumor has it that it is very hard to get out of this place though we like it well enough. We love being a part of a small military branch at church and the children enjoy their schools and neighborhood friends.

What have we been doing in 2009?

Dave is continuing his service in the Army as a surgical tech at the local hospital. This particular duty assignment has been an opportunity for long-suffering and patience and he has endured it well. He serves in the branch as Elders’ Quorum President. During his downtime he prefers listening to politically charged talk radio, playing strategic computer games, and cheering on the Denver, Broncos.

Clair thought she was in for a break this year with three in school and just one underfoot during the day, but as is typical the time fills up all too quickly and she keeps busy with home management challenges, her photography business, Relief Society, reading, and blogging. She is blessed to be volunteering as an affiliated photographer for the "Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep" organization that provides remembrance photography to parents suffering the loss of a baby.

Livvy, 10 ½ is in full tween mode. Our 5th grade social butterfly loves her friends and is always looking forward to the next sleepover. A creative one, she is often making something like clothes for a doll or a house for Webkins. She recently started her own blog and likes to write songs and plays as well. She is on her Elementary School’s yearbook staff and enjoys Activity Days with girls at church.

Paul, almost 9, is giving his dad a run for his money (both literally and figuratively) when it comes to computer games and all things wii. He enjoys math in school and is eager to make his next pinewood derby car for Cub Scouts. Paul is always telling us some amazing new fact he has learned and is a loving son and brother.

Faith, 5, has a social streak like her big sister. Always eager to go outside to play or invite a friend over, she makes friends easily. Kindergarten suits her well as she enjoys learning to read and especially loves to be a helper. She is considerate of other’s feelings and likes to comfort and cheer up those in need.

Seth, 20 months, enjoys a good pacifier, a good nap, a good laugh, a good hug, and a good episode of Sesame Street. Everywhere we go we got comments on his light blonde hair which draws extra attention because it stands on end regardless of any attempts to tame it. So far, Seth has managed to undecorate the bottom two feet of the Christmas tree. We all adore the baby of the family.

We are thinking you, our dear friends and family, as we celebrate the Savior’s birth this year and give thanks for the many blessings we enjoy because of His love and sacrifice.
