Just a little while longer...

Faith is going to finish her almost 4 year reign as baby of the family pretty soon. I have been thinking a lot about her and noticing just how she is getting "bigger." Faith loves to tell stories, which are usually very similar to something another family member has just related. She asks me to watch her do the splits, or "slits" as she calls them,
about 3 times a day. I told her that doing splits was something a cheerleader would do. One morning she insisted on wearing her "cheerleader" pants, but I had no idea what pants she was refering to, so we had to go with some pink capris instead. Faith likes to be a funny girl. She likes to dance and get hyper with the rest of the crew. She learns about things her big brother and sister are into- like the cartoon Avatar- she rehearses the whole dialog that the character Katara gives at the beginning of the show (though only the very beginning and the end are recognizable.) She gives plenty of hugs and kisses. She wonders off outside scaring the b-geebers out of me. She says that "Jesus gave her blonde hair which is just right" for her. She is good at cleaning the living room- she just puts everything that is out of place on the floor into a neighboring room and then gives this "ta-da" look. She is the Sunbeam that the teacher wishes she could glue to the chair. She easily gets her feelings hurt when someone talks rude or sticks their tongue out at her. Faith loves to draw- if there is a writing utensil and paper within reach, she is drawing something. (Sidewalk chalk is a real hit as you can see in the last picture.) Faith loves her cousins and talks about Aubrey who is the same age all the time. She just wishes we could see them and go to Grandma's house more often. She doesn't care for pet names like "doll" or "cutie pie." She tells me to stop calling her that because they are "bad words." I insist that they are terms of affection, but she clearly prefers to be called simply "Faith." "Faithy" is also acceptable and "Faithy Lou-Lou" is allowed only for Daddy to use. Faith is very much looking forward to meeting her little brother... though she doesn't know that this means she isn't going to be "our baby" anymore. But she will still be our "Faithy" who is a very special part of our family.
