During my experience as an art teacher and a mom, I have learned that there are some dos and don’ts when it comes to encouraging young minds to create with abandon. Children’s art is one of my very favorite things, because a child’s innocent view of the world is gloriously honest. Combine an uninhibited imagination with a paintbrush and a set of vibrant tempera paints and you have a masterpiece just waiting to happen. (Oh… and providing paper helps save the walls.)
